What recourse do I have if I’ve discovered my husband was married to someone else at the time of our wedding?

I was searching through the online public records for a county he used to live in and saw he had a judgment awarded to him from a woman bearing his (our) last name two years after our wedding date. We are currently divorcing (but it’s not final yet) and I’m concerned if our marriage is invalidated, my settlement will be too.

Talk with a lawyer. He married you under false pretenses so I’d take him for all I could.

For fraud and bigamy get legal advice as possible.
The time he married you wouldnt have to someone else at all you your husband was still legally married to someone else at the time he married to someone else at all you your husband was still legally married to get divorce at the time he married.

The state you are in general your settlement.
The state you still would be considered null and void however in general your settlement.

If he was married when he married you he is a bigamist and that is against the law in the U.S. Yeah your divorce is null and void because your marriage doesn’t legally exist.
